Shadowlands tells the story of C.S.Lewis and Joy Gresham, their meeting, their marriage and the consequences of their finding love.

It is set in Oxford University in the 1950s, where C.S.Lewis, the Christian thinker, academic, and writer of the “Narnia” stories for children, leads a settled and ordered life. Into this totally male world, Joy brings openness ,honesty and emotion, which forces Lewis to review his previous existence and its certainties.

If wisdom is knowledge aligned with experience, then this powerful
and passionate play shows how hard won this wisdom and
experience can be.

CHARITY COLLECTION

We decided to help the work done by the Macmillan Cancer Support by running a collection for them at our performances of 'Shadowlands'. Our audiences were very generous and a toal of £216 . 88 was raised.

The picture shows Ali (Douglas) and Mike (Jack Lewis) handing over the cheque to Kate Knight of Macmillan Cancer Support.

We were pleased to welcome Ruth to our group.
