Originally a German tale, Rumpelstiltskin tells of a miller who boasts to his king that his daughter could spin straw into gold.
The king calls for the girl, shuts her in the tower room with straw and a spinning wheel, and demands she spins straw into gold by morning or suffer the consequences.
She has given up all hope when an imp appears in the room and spins straw into gold for her. He offers to continue helping her but his proposal comes with strings attached!
Today I brew, tomorrow I bake;
And then the Princechild I will take;
For no one knows my little game
That Rumpelstiltskin is my name!

This year, because a friend of the group was in need of a stem cell transplant, we decided to help the work done by the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Thank you to everyone who supported us with this.
Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Every day,
remarkable donors willing to donate their blood stem cells are matched
to people who desperately need life saving transplants. |
