WELCOME TO WARKWORTH DRAMA GROUP "Live Amateur Theatre at it's best"
We are an enthusiastic bunch of like minded thespians who enjoy the smell of the grease paint and the roar of the crowd. We are based in Warkworth Northumberland and perform at Warkworth Memorial Hall. We normally stage three productions a year. We have just finished staging our spring production of 'Shadowlands' and are now busily preparing for our next production 'Living Together' by Alan Ayckbourne . If you like acting, back-stage work, or just having fun then come along and join us, all are welcome.
COMING SOON
Our next production wiil be...
"Living Together" - a comedy by Alan Ayckbourn.
We have a strong young group of actors ready to rise to the challenge of this hilarious comedy.
Be sure to put these dates in your diaries.
Performances dates are:
September 18th, 19th, 20th.
“Living Together” is the second of Ayckbourn’s “Norman Conquests” comedy trilogy.
The “Norman Conquests” concern not William the Conqueror, but a new dynamic hero, Norman the Assistant Librarian.
All three plays represent the same time period (a week-end) at the house that Annie shares with her invalid mother, but they are viewed from different angles: “Table Manners” is set in the dining room, “Living Together” takes place in the living room, and “Round and Round the Garden” is in the garden.
At the start of “Living Together” Reg and Sarah have just arrived for a weekend, intending to spell off Annie from looking after “Mother”, enabling her to have a weekend away, but along the way, Reg is driven mad by Tom... Tom tells Annie a thing or two... Annie nearly comes to blows with Sarah... Sarah sees a different side of Norman... Norman sorts things out with Ruth... Ruth discovers the charms of a fireside rug... and nobody enjoys playing Reg’s board games!
Prepare to come along and have an evening of fun and laughter.
OUR SPRING PRODUCTION WAS ...
Shadowlands is the story of C.S. Lewis, author of the Narnia Chronicles, and poet Joy Gresham.
They both came to know love in a way that was so intense that it changed their lives completely.
It is a story of tragedy in that they were granted so few years, and yet it is a saga too of the triumph of the human spirit over pain.

CHARITY COLLECTION
We decided to help the work done by the Macmillan Cancer Support by running a collection for them at our performances of 'Shadowlands'. Our audiences were very generous and a toal of £216 .88 was raised.
The picture below shows Ali (Douglas) and Mike (Jack Lewis) handing over the cheque to Kate Knight of Macmillan Cancer Support.
